Kay has lived and worked in the South West of WA for 17 years and has over 25 years experience as an Environmental Scientist/Botanist. She has a broad range of experience and expertise having worked for State and Local Government, Catchment Groups and Environmental Consultancy Companies.

Case Studies
Spring Rare Flora Surveys
Client: Shire of Augusta Margaret River
Eco Logic Environmental Services Pty Ltd was commissioned by the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River to undertake flora surveys and document associated values of three project areas in Spring 2014.
Purpose
The flora surveys were required to provide guidance for proposed works, to permit applications to clear vegetation to be prepared and to summarise the survey findings of each project area in a report.
Methodology
The Flora and Vegetation Assessment methodology utilised EPA Guidance Statement No. 51 Terrestrial Flora and Vegetation Surveys for Environmental Impact Assessment in Western Australia (EPA, 2004) and Position Statement No.3, Terrestrial Biological Surveys as an Element of Biodiversity Protection (EPA, 2002).
Results
Results included Vegetation Types and Condition, a Review of Threatened Ecological Communities and the Conservation Significance of Flora species.
Recommendations
Recommendations were given on the management of clearing operations, the management of conservation significant flora and the consultation requirements with Department of Parks and Wildlife. In addition, recommendations were given on site management measures including dieback, weed and fauna management.
